Conference on Native American Health Information Services in the United States

Native Health Conference 2006

National leaders who provide health information to Native Americans gathered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on July 20 – 21, 2006 for a conference hosted by the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC).

 

Nearly 60 librarians, health care providers and researchers who provide important health data to Native Americans throughout the U.S. gathered to share experiences on the effective delivery of information. Attendees, some from as far away as Alaska, also planned the development of a comprehensive Native American health information network to continue building and sharing effective practices.

The national conference was supported under contract no. NO1-LM-1-3514 with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine MidContinental Region from the National Library of Medicine®, a division of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
