Accounts are referred to as NetID's, or “Network ID's,” which allow users to access particular resources on campus. Users will normally be issued two NetID's, one for the Health Sciences Center resources (HSC NetID) and a second to access UNM Main Campus resources (UNM NetID). Your NetID's are issued and controlled by different IT departments. HSC Technology Support issues and maintains your HSC NetID while the Main Campus Information Technology issues and maintains your UNM NetID. Please use the following link to access information related to which ID's are used for the various resources on the HSC and UNM Campuses.
To request an HSC NetID and email account you will need to fill out and submit an on-line account request form. The form must be completely filled out and contact information must be provided or the account will not be provisioned. To begin the account request process, please go to the HSC Account Request Form.
To change your password, open your web browser and type in hscpw.health.unm.edu from any system on the HSC wired or "HSC_Secure" wireless network. If you are off campus or accessing the "HSC_Guest" wireless network, please either connect to the VPN first or use the Citrix Access Gateway. Log in to the Novell Identity Manager website using your HSC NetID and current password and follow the instructions on the site to change your password.
If you are not certain that your HSC password works, please use the Account Validation Utility. This utility will only work from within the HSC network. Enter your HSC NetID and password. When you submit, it will return the status of your password.
To request a UNM NetID and email account you will need to go to the UNM ITS NetID Maintenance page and follow the instructions for creating an account.
