The New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center is constantly working to improve the care of poisoned patients and to reduce injury associated with poisoning. Our computerized data collection system has been developed to collect and maintain information on all cases managed by the Center

 

The data are used both locally and nationally to:

  • Target poison prevention efforts

  • Improve poisoning treatments

  • Identify poisoning trends

  • Spot poisoning epidemics as they develop

  • Re-formulate and repackage products to make them safer
