The UNM NMSU Cooperative
Pharmacy Program is designed to increase the number of pharmacy students
from southern New Mexico
Students selected for
this program will have a seat reserved for them in the Doctor of
Pharmacy Program here at the UNM College of Pharmacy

More than 1,000
applications from across the nation are submitted to the UNM College
of Pharmacy each year.

From those
applications, only about 85 students are chosen each year.

Cooperative Pharmacy Program may be your opportunity to get an edge
on the competition!
STEPS TO SUCCESS
-
If selected, you
commit to completing all pre-pharmacy classes at NMSU (64 credits)
in 2-3 years with a GPA of 3.2 or higher
-
Then you will be
AUTOMATICALLY ADMITTED into the UNM College of Pharmacy
Doctor of
Pharmacy Program (4 years)
-
You will spend your
summers, as well as your final year of pharmacy school, close to
home in southern New Mexico completing pharmacy practice experiences
The program is open to all high school seniors who meet the following
criteria:
- Attended high school in any of the following counties:
Catron, Chaves, Cibola, Curry, de Baca, Dona Ana, Eddy,
Grant, Guadalupe, Hidalgo, Lea, Lincoln, Luna, Otero, Quay,
Roosevelt, Sierra, Socorro, Torrance
- Completion of the following high school academic classes
at the conclusion of their senior year:
- A competitive ACT score (above 18)
- Will attend New Mexico State University (NMSU) for
pre-pharmacy coursework
- Interest in pursuing pharmacy as a career
- Will complete the prerequisite courses in 3 years or less
