Who should attend this workshop?

  • All new faculty are assigned to attend this two or three day orientation

  • Faculty who are not new hires may attend portions (with approval by Associate Dean for Academic Affairs) depending on space availability.

Content

  • A three day series of informational sessions and workshops designed to introduce new faculty to the School of Medicine.   The first day focuses on the Clinical Mission.  Faculty are introduced to SOM and Clinical Leadership and learn about University Hospital history and policies including a practical session on coding.  The second day outlines the Research and Educational Missions.  The third day, the focus is on Academic Affairs, with discussions about faculty tracks, promotion, mentoring, compliance and health law.
