EMS Academy Student Organization

Current UNM EMS Academy Students and Alumni are encouraged to join the Students of Emergency Medical Services (SEMS) organization. The purpose of the organization is to provide a supportive community for those students interested in pursuing an education in Emergency Medical Services; to serve as a repository where EMS’ students may bring their requests, grievances, and particular needs. To provide support and training for EMS and first response to UNM.

SEMS holds meetings every Wednesday from 5:00-6:00pm at the EMS Academy. Anyone interested in joining, making a donation, or wanting more information can click here to be directed to their website.

SEMS created the first annual EMS Rodeo in May of 2011 and invited EMS Services in the area to attend. The Paramedic students divided into teams for the event and competed in dynamic, static and academic jeopardy events.
