Anne O'Neil, PhD, MSN

J. Anne O’Neil, PhD, MSN is a graduate of the University of San Diego, School of Nursing (Nursing Administration) and the University of Maryland, School of Nursing (PhD) (Nursing Ethics).

She is currently Adjunct Faculty at the University of St. Francis, Albuquerque, where she teaches healthcare ethics for physician assistant students.  Previously, she was at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County as Program Administrator for the Master’s in Applied and Professional Ethics Program and as Executive Director of the Maryland Healthcare Ethics Committee Network at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Law. Before this she was employed at Children’s Hospital and Health Center, San Diego, CA as a Clinical IV nurse specializing in the care of children with cancer.

Dr. O’Neil has contributed to both the nursing and physician assistant literature.  She has presented extensively in healthcare ethics including presentations in Edinburgh, Scotland and Istanbul, Ankara and Cappadocia, Turkey.  Recently her interests have turned to care of the elderly and those afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease.
