Paul E. Tyler, M.D.

Paul E. Tyler, MD, a retired Naval Medical Officer, is a graduate of the University of Denver (BA), University Colorado Medical School, (MD) and the University of Rochester, (MS in Radiological Sciences). He was an Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Science where he headed the Radiological Sciences Division in the Department of Radiology. He was also involved in teaching Medical Ethics at the University.

Other military assignments included Officer in Charge, Hallett Research Station, Antarctica; Director, EMR Project Office; and Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute. Prior to retirement, he was responsible for the Navy’s review board on the Use of Human Subjects in medical research. Currently he is a member of Sandia National Laboratories’ IRB and the IBC review committees.

At the Institute for Ethics, he will assist in teaching and and conduct various special projects for the Director.
