Surveillance Program Manager, Virginia (Ginger) Williams, CTR, has over 20 years of extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of the Registry operations including abstracting, data collection, follow-up, and editing. She was formerly the Technical Operations Supervisor, and she also assisted in establishing the “virtual chart” scanning project as well as implementing the electronic editing process for data submissions.

Data Collection Supervisor, Theresa Chavez, CTR, plans, directs and actively participates in all Registry abstracting and casefinding activities, and she supervises and trains the Registry abstractors. She also checks data for accuracy before it is incorporated into the SEER database. She works with the QC Abstractor in training abstracting staff at all NCI/SEER coder/abstractor workshops.

Editing Coordinator, Gloria Chavez, CTR, coordinates the Editing Section, and works closely with the Surveillance Program Manager and the Technical Operations Supervisor in planning Registry editing activities. She also conducts Census tracking and American Indian coding, and she assists in coordinating the special projects section.
