All Investigators are required to take training in Human Subjects Protections prior to starting human research. HRPO submissions will be checked to ensure Investigators have completed the required training. An Investigator is any person who is responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of a UNM human research activity. For these purposes, any individuals who are performing data entry and do not have access to identifiable information are not required to complete the training.

The Human Research Protections Training is an alternative training program available to all UNM investigators.

"The CITI Program is a subscription service providing research ethics education to all members of the research community." CITI certificates are good for two years from date of completion. At time of the CITI 2 year expiration, the HRP training will be required, every two years.

This 1-day series of workshops will include: Submissions of New Research, Lifecycle of a Study, Protocol Guidelines, Consent and HIPAA guidelines, and more! Anyone involved in Human Research (Principal Investigators, Study Coordinators, Investigators...) is welcome to register.
