Government Contracts

Government Contracting is an area within the Office of Clinical Contract Services that encompasses interaction with Government payers and delivery systems. Areas of primary focus include: Veterans Health Care System; Indian Health System; Public Health System; New Mexico Department of Health; Children, Youth and Families Department; numerous other state agencies funding or involved in the care of New Mexico residents; Kirtland Air Force base; tribal or pueblo 638 agreements and other agreements and federal or state agencies as needed.

Tricare Network
In addition to the interactions with the previously noted agencies, Government Contracting within OCCS also administers the Department of Defense Tricare Network within the State of New Mexico. In this capacity, we act as the insurer or health plan by building a network of physicians and facilities that Tricare beneficiaries can use. We are partnered with TriWest Healthcare Alliance in providing all aspect of the Tricare program to Tricare beneficiaries within the state.

Generally, our role is to negotiate network contracts and credential providers and facilities so that they can join the Tricare Network. We also conduct provider education on program requirements to all networked providers and assist with administrative issues that may result from participating in the network. Currently our network encompasses over 3,500 providers and about 135 facilities.
