Sandra Gale is the medical provider
at the ACL Teen Centers. She is responsible for providing primary
health care services and prevention counseling to students within
the school teen centers. She divides her time between the Laguna
Acoma Jr/Sr High School and the To’Hajiilee Community School.
Sandra is an advanced practice nurse who graduated as a Certified
Nurse Midwife with an MPH from John’s Hopkins School of Hygiene
and Public Health, Baltimore, MD in 1976 and her MSN and certification
as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas, Austin,
TX in 1995.
Sandra has had many years of experience in primary care especially
in Women’s health and reproductive care. She has worked in
many settings serving ethnically diverse populations with limited
financial resources. Her experiences as a peace corps volunteer
in Venezuela in 1974 was the impetus for her interest in public
health issues especially in the realm of maternal/child health.
