Outcomes:

  • Establishment of core educational training team consisting of tribal health program representatives, university-based centers staff, and a national cancer agency regional representative.


  • Modification of Cancer 101 curriculum for New Mexico tribes.


  • Cancer 101 training/workshops delivered by team.


  • Community Cancer 101 trainings delivered by community-based team members.


Potential long-term outcomes for future evaluation include: increasing continuing education for CHRs, culturally-relevant cancer modules for NM tribes, increased uptake of cancer screening, increased interest/referrals to clinical trials, and improved survival rates for tribes.
