On Saturday, October 24, the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence awarded outstanding nurses across New Mexico in 22 categories. Among those honored that evening were our very own alumni Kimberlee Mainning-Maestas, classes of 1998 and 2005, in the category of Advanced Practice; Cynthia Martinez, class of 2003, in the category of Management/Emerging Leadership; Lee Paul, class of 2009, in the category of Outstanding Nursing Student; and Kathy Ramirez, class of 1982, in the category of Education/Research/Academia. Congratulations!
After retiring from nursing nine years ago, Anita McDonald, class of 1990, decided to put her journalism degree to work. She has published her first book, Trailer Trash.
