- Our Senior Class Gift Program is still the only senior class gift program at UNM! It continues to grow and break giving records for the College. The 2008 Fall Graduating Class gifts represented 38 pledges and a total commitment of $3,795 supporting the Nursing Chair Fund to help attract and retain great nursing faculty. We applaud and thank our 11th graduating classes for participating in this outstanding “Senior Class Gift” tradition established by our College of Nursing in 2005.
- The College of Nursing’s first graduates, the Class of 1959, will celebrate their Golden Graduation Year in May. They will be part of UNM’s Gold Grads festivities May 14-16. We will share photos and more in the fall issue of our CON Development Newsletter. The Class of 1959 will begin a new tradition for our College of Nursing!
- The UNM College of Nursing holds weekly community health nursing clinics at the Storehouse Nursing Clinic in downtown Albuquerque to provide health screenings, health education and community resource information. The Storehouse has received 30 Walgreens True Touch Blood Glucose Monitors from several Albuquerque Walgreen stores to help diabetic Storehouse clients. Since many of the diabetic clients are uninsured and lack the ability to purchase monitors or buy strips for the monitors, the College will be able to help them more regularly monitor their blood sugar. Thank you, Walgreens!
