Why Choose a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing?

  • The bachelor's degree provides the broadest background in sciences and liberal arts.

  • A bachelor's degree is required to enter most master's programs in nursing, where specialization occurs.

  • Graduates may be eligible to enter any of the armed services nurse corps or certain specialty programs such as nurse anesthesia, nurse midwifery, or nurse practitioner.
     

  • The bachelor's degree is the minimum necessary credential for ANCC certification.

  • A bachelor's degree is often required for positions in management, school health, and community health, and in situations involving patients with complex illnesses or issues.
