BSN Admission Process

In this competitive process, we will only consider for admission those students who meet minimum criteria and whose complete application packets are received by the deadline. Minimum criteria for admission are as follows:

Preference will be given to New Mexico residents.

Requirements for Consideration for Admission: Basic Entry Option

  • A cumulative and science grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0

  • Successful completion of all required freshman and sophomore classes before the term of admission

  • Successful completion of at least 16 credits of the required science courses before submitting application. (Science courses include General Biology, General Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, and Pathophysiology I and II [or Human Physiologic Function & Disease])

Requirements for Consideration for Admission: 2nd Degree Entry Option

  • A cumulative and science grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0

  • Earned bachelor’s degree by time of application

  • Before submitting application, successful completion within the previous 10 years of at least 9 credits (three different courses) from the following human sciences courses: Pharmacology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pathophysiology.

  • In addition, the completion of Pathophysiology 1, Pathophysiology 2 and Pharmacology needs to be accomplished before the start of your first nursing semester.

Requirements for Consideration for Admission: RN to BSN Option

  • Valid RN license

  • Eligibility for NM RN licensure and at least 26 transferable credit hours that count towards the BSN.

  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least a 2.5
