Marilyn Diener is currently a Clinical Educator at the College of Nursing, Health Sciences Center, University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Ms. Diener earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, and a Master of Science in Nursing from The Pennsylvania State University. Previously Ms. Diener earned a Masters of Education from The New York State University College at Oneonta, New York. Her teaching experience includes baccalaureate degree programs in New York and New Mexico and HEADSTART. Ms. Diener also served as the medical manager for COMBINE, a multi-site national clinical trial with the Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse and Addiction (CASAA), University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. Her content areas in nursing education include mental health, older adult and community. Ms. Diener’s research interests are in community, public health and health promotion in the elderly, community and indigenous populations of the Southwest. She currently serves on the KUNM radio board, the UNM Institute for Ethics Consultation Committee, and the UNM Facilities Planning Committee. For more than 30 years she has been an advocate for women, children and families.
