Susan Fox is an Associate Clinical Professor at the College of Nursing, Health Sciences Center, University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Dr. Fox earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico, a Master of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and the PhD in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Fox has been a staff nurse, assistant nurse manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiac/Critical Care, Director of Nursing Practice, and Director of Quality Management. She has been an Assistant and Associate Professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Medical University of South Carolina, and now at UNM, teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Her specialty areas include critical care and administration, but more recently she became ELNEC certified and also teaches an End of Life/Palliative Care elective course. Dr. Fox is an advocate for pain management and the CNS role. She has been actively involved in Sigma Theta Tau, AACN, and Council on Cardiovascular Nursing. Dr. Fox currently serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Community Partnerships and Practice at the College of Nursing, UNM.
