Judy Liesveld is currently Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing, University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque. Dr. Liesveld earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Iowa, a Master of Science in Nursing of Children degree from Arizona State University, and a PhD in Nursing from the University of New Mexico. She has been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 1991. Her passions include exploring the potential in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and neurodevelopmental disabilities, with a research interest in implementing this new understanding in nursing education and practice. She presently teaches in the baccalaureate and graduate degree programs. Dr. Liesveld finds inspiration not only in working with her students, but also in being with her family, in creating colorful needlework pieces, and in playing honky tonk music on her baby grand piano.
