Pat Payne is an Associate Professor at the College of Nursing, Health Sciences Center, University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Dr. Payne earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Baylor University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas System School of Nursing at Austin, a doctorate in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Certificate in nurse-midwifery from The University of California at San Francisco/San Francisco General Hospital Nurse-Midwifery Education Program. Dr. Payne has been involved with nursing
education since 1984. He teaching experience includes associate
degree, baccalaureate degree, and graduate degree programs in
New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado. Her content areas in nursing
education include medical-surgical nursing, health assessment,
nursing process, nursing fundamentals, and education. She is the
Coordinator for the Nursing Education Concentration in the
Master's Degree Program. Her research interests are in nursing
education and critical thinking. She collaborated in the
development of the Critical Thinking Resource. For more than ten
years, she also has been actively writing textbooks, workbooks,
and developing electronic media for nursing students and nurses
for continuing education. |
