Linda Petri is a Program Manager at the College of Nursing. Ms. Petri earned a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota and holds a Masters Degree in Anthropology and Post Masters Public Administration Certificate in Gerontology both from University of New Mexico. Her health care experience was as a Radiological Technologist and Chief Technologist at the University of Minnesota Hospital Trauma Center before moving to New Mexico. Ms. Petri has been involved with nursing education outreach and research projects at the college since 1998. She was a co-investigator in research conducted at 10 health care sites in the Navajo Nation to determine interests and needs for health career advancement. She has worked together with CON faculty in the implementation of an evaluation project of online curriculum delivery as well as the implementation of several projects to increase access to nursing education in rural New Mexico. Ms. Petri also collaborates with faculty and American Indian nurse leaders in the writing of proposals for the promotion of nursing careers in the Navajo Nation. At present she is the Program Manager for the 6 External RN/BSN On-the-Ground Program Satellite Sites in Gallup, Farmington, Santa Fe, Hobbs, UNM-West in Rio Rancho and UNMH and the 2 Basic BSN sites located at UNM-Taos Campus and UNM-Valencia Campus. Ms. Petri is co-author with CON faculty on 2 articles published in 2007.
