Rebekah Salt joined the faculty of the College of Nursing as Assistant Professor in 2008. She earned a Master's Degree in Cross Cultural and Community Health Nursing and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of Washington, Seattle. In 2007, Dr. Salt was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship on the Women's Health Nursing Research Training grant, also at the University of Washington. Her program of research is broadly based in health disparities and the social determinants of health. Since 1997, Dr. Salt's work has focused on socioeconomics and health, specifically with low-income women who participate in microcredit. In addition, Dr. Salt has a clinical background in critical care, and her research interests include community engaged scholarship, qualitative methodology, and community-based participatory research.
