El Oso de Salud Society
The UNM Foundation formed a recognition society to honor and thank alumni and friends who have made UNM part of their financial plans. These are people with foresight, who know that the university will continue to be an important force in the 21st century. They want to be a part of the enterprise while securing their own financial future and planning for family needs.
Membership in the El Oso de Salud Society is open to individuals who have remembered UNM through any planned giving vehicle listed below:
-
Bequest through a will.
-
Gift through a living trust or other noncharitable trust.
-
Charitable remainder trust.
-
Charitable lead trust.
-
Charitable gift annuity.
-
Remainder interest in a personal residence.
-
Gift of life insurance.
-
Beneficiary designation in retirement plans.
-
Pooled income fund gift (when available through UNM).
Members receive benefits ranging from welcome letters and lapel pins (specially created by New Mexico jeweler, Ray Tracey) to planned giving newsletters, invitations to certain UNM events and subscriptions to major UNM and UNM Foundation publications.
A $1,000 minimum gift is required to join and there will be no distinction made regarding the size or type of the planned gift. Gifts may be revocable or irrevocable. The only required documentation is a response card to be completed by the donor indicating gift intention and the form of the gift. All members will receive the benefits of the society; those who prefer to remain anonymous may do so.
