The "Wanna Bougie?" on-line module was designed to utilize sophisticated and advanced technologies for the internet to bring rich, interactive and exciting learning online. The computer system you use to take the course must have a broadband connection (CABLE, DSL or T1 line with download rate of
at least 300 kbps) to the internet in order to view the streaming video that is a large portion of the course.
Speakers properly connected and volume adjusted are required for the audio portion of the video.
The "Wanna Bougie?" online
module is best viewed in the newer browser versions of Internet Explorer (6.0 or higher). However, Netscape (7.1 or higher), Mozilla (5.0 or higher) and Other Browsers will display the course with potential minor viewing changes.
Mozilla may
require downloading the Windows Media Player plugin found at their

Windows Media Player Requirements
(Mac Users must download)
|
|
In addition, for IE, Netscape and other browser users,
Windows Media Player 11 Series is the preferred component to view the videos in this tutorial. To install a free version of this onto your computer, click on the Windows Media Player logo below. If you already have a Windows Media Player installed on your computer, you might want to try viewing the video first by clicking the "Test Video" button below. The earlier versions of Windows Media Player, which you may already have on your computer, might not play the tutorial videos. If this is the case, the new Windows Media Player 11 Series, once installed, will be able to play the videos.
Another issue in playing the video is that you may get a red "X" where the
player should be and a yellow alert bar at the top of the page. As a
security feature your web browser is asking if the page can install an
ActiveX control. It is safe to proceed and click install as this is a
legitimate site hosted on the University of New Mexico HSC servers.
*MAC USERS
must download and install the Windows Media
Player for Mac OS X from Apple. The University of New Mexico only supports a
Windows Media streaming video server and our module videos can only be
viewed on this player. To download the player click the Apple icon below and
follow the instructions on their site. There may be issues using the Safari
browser as well, even after downloading the player, and suggest using the
Mozilla browser that may also require a plugin for Mac (see above). We are
sorry for this inconvenience but the incompatibility issues between
Microsoft and Apple are ongoing.

-
To test
your current Media Player, click on the "Test Video " button below.
If the video plays in the window, click the next arrow to return to
this page and click the
Return to On-Line
Education Module to start the module. If the video does not play,
click the next arrow to return to this page and do the install below. When the install is complete, return to this page and click on the "Test Video " button again to see if the install was successful.

Note: You may be using a computer that will not allow downloading from the internet, unless done by a systems administrator or technical support staff within your location. In that case, you should contact technical support and have them give you the permissions to download the file or have them download it onto your computer.

Adobe Flash Player Requirements
|
|
A Flash Player must also be installed on the computer you are using. Most computers today have the player already installed with the browser. If you use an institutional computer system or terminal, it is possible both streaming video and Flash Player technologies could be disabled, you then must contact your system administrator or use another computer system.

-
To install the Free Adobe Flash Player, click on the icon below to download the player. Follow the instructions given at the web site for downloading and installation. After the install is completed, return to this page and click on the "Test Flash" button to ensure a successful install was done and that the player is working properly.
