Estimated Costs:

This is a not-for-profit venture. Although in the future we plan to offer a more polished, CME-accredited version of this trip at higher cost, this year’s themes will be adventure and value. We plan to require only the coverage of individual costs, which will be relatively cheap, given our connections and prior experience in the country. Participants will be responsible for their own flights into and out of Nepal (our preferred travel agent will gladly assist in getting good fares). In-country costs should average approximately $25 per day (but could be significantly higher or lower, depending mostly on preferences for accommodations and food in Kathmandu). Internal flights will be extra, and will run approximately $100 per flight (3 flights total in our planned itinerary). A more detailed estimate of costs will be available once we know the size of the group and a finalized itinerary. Participants should be prepared to cover the usual gamut of unforeseen travel-related expenses; however, barring a highly unusual complication, we can pretty much guarantee that a similar (or even significantly less comfortable) trip would be quite a bit more expensive, no matter how one were to arrange it.
