A Multi—Systems Approach to Pediatric Trauma Course
Funded by Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Project—NM Center for Disaster Medicine
This is an exciting virtual online course for all healthcare providers that presents video re-enacted pediatric trauma scenarios
and teaching interview with a UNM medical expert commenting on the
medical care for the specific injuries of the child. This is true "edutainment" with streaming video, rich multimedia and interactive instruction.
Six modules are available, 2 are in production. CE is pending.

VSNEMS Virtual School Nurse and EMS Course
Funding provided by HRSA, Grant #H34MC 02542-02-00
A School Nurse Emergency Preparedness course with 15 modules. These modules utilize streaming video technology that provide exciting and enhanced learning. National CE is available for nurses and EMS personnel. There is a $5.00 administrative processing fee for each CE but the education is always FREE.

UNM EMSC Partnership Course

Module Series with currently 8 modules available primarily for pre-hospital EMS personnel's scope of practice, however, can benefit all healthcare providers. Pediatric 1.5 CE available for EMS only. New modules are being produced and added to the Course Directory on an ongoing basis.

In addition to the pediatric online courses we offer other emergency medicine education.
An in-depth multimedia module exploring the use of the gum-elastic bougie, also known as an endotracheal tube introducer, as a tool for adult Airway Management. A discussion with residents in the Emergency Room provides the instructional portion. Re-enacted scenarios create real medical situations for use of the bougie. CME and NM CE available for an administrative fee. The education is always FREE.
