Med
School:
University of Washington (but still a Coug!)
Hometown: Wenatchee,

Why Albuquerque:
During my interview I
got the sense that the residents where good friends and truly happy with
life and the program, the program director Steve (need I say more?),
affordable living, fun outdoors, good trauma, good peds. After being
here about 3 months I realized that all of this was true and more. The
faculty are fun and love to teach, we have a great time during shifts,
the program is so supportive and changes anything that is not helpful to
us in a heartbeat, Sandra and Annette in the office rock, and my
co-interns keep me sane. The program has really exceeded my
expectations and I am lucky to be here.
.... Anything else interesting:
Life Before Med
School:
Nursing assistant in
oncology (if there was a code brown I was the one to call!) and ED tech,
short time in Dominican Republic supporting a summer camp for local
orphanage.
Hobbies:
black and white photography, camping, fishing, tickling Makena, anything
with friends or family.
Worst/Best job:
Worst- sorting cherries in a packing shed. Let me explain why: 4pm-4am
in a 33 degrees building when it is 80 degrees outside, three conveyer
belts of cherries going past you in different directions, your neighbor
pegging you in the head with the hard ones, and never being able to eat
anything cherry again after seeing how they make maraschino cherries and
the ones they use for foods like yogurts, pop-tarts, etc. Best-
Emergency Medicine of course!
Favorite Band:
Jack Johnson or any kind of Jawaiian
Favorite
Movie:
tough one............Austin Powers (story behind it).
