Obrien-McGinty
Undergrad:
Georgetown University
Med
School:
University of Washington SOM
Hometown:
Bethel, AK
Why Albuquerque:
Great program,
wonderful people, the Sandia mountains.
.....Anything else interesting:
Originally from rural
Alaska and later Anchorage, I managed to get sent to an Irish boarding
school for high-school after my parents relocated back to rural Alaska.
Ireland was fantastic but after 3 years in an all-boys school run by
Benedictine monks I was very ready for a change and headed to Georgetown
for college- Go Hoyas! I spent most of the summers throughout high
school and college working as a laborer with a construction crew in my
hometown of Bethel, Alaska but I still only know enough about
construction to get myself into trouble. After medical school at the
University of Washington I will miss Seattle but I'm psyched to be
somewhere sunny and surrounded by the mountains of Albuquerque. I'm
thrilled to be starting residency in New Mexico and I'm looking forward
to meeting you all!
Hobbies:
Running, hiking,
reading, cycling, movies, drinking beer.
Worst/Best job:
Construction laborer
during winter in Alaska/ during summer in Alaska
Favorite
Movie:
Predator (starring 2
future state governors!)
