Our course fee is $495 per participant; payable to "UNM Department of Emergency Medicine". You are not in the class until payment is received; you will receive a confirmation letter thereafter that you are in the class. Because of the need to plan each course in advance, full refunds are granted if cancellation occurs prior to January 16; otherwise, a refund minus $100 will be returned if cancellation occurs up to the day before the class. Full refunds are granted to those on the waiting list who do not get into the class. The fee does not include housing (we have a list of cheap housing), or equipment rental. But, it's still a great deal – most wilderness medicine conferences charge a lot more for only a few days of conference in a big auditorium, with additional surcharges for "hands - on" classes. You won't find a better course for the money (VALUE). We offer this month-long course in March of each year. This is an ideal time in New Mexico, where the outdoor teaching environment is suited for winter and summer outdoor activities. We guarantee that this popular course will be one of the best experiences in your career! We also offer week-long courses in high altitude and diving medicine, survival, and certification courses (WALS or AWLS). We also host a disaster and remote medicine course in October. Please email dmacias@salud.unm.edu for details. To register, call Crystal
Williams at (505) 272-3833 or email at
CrWilliams@salud.unm.edu , who will provide you with registration
information. Please send your CV, as well as, information regarding your outdoor
or travel experience. We use this information to tailor the course for you. |

Those interested are asked to periodically review the web page, and may correspond with the director from October of the preceding year up to the beginning of the course for specific queries and applications. Thank you for your interest. Special
