DAVID WACHTER, M.D. Dept. of Emergency Medicine	ASSISTANT PROFESSOR Med School: University of Washington, Seattle, WA Residency: Emergency Medicine, University of New Mexico, NM Interests: Photography, travel, mountaineering, climbing, literature, skiing, bicyling, running, scuba diving. A transplant from the West Coast (Stanford → University of Washington SOM), I’ve recently admitted to myself that Albuquerque is home. My professional interests include International Medicine, Wilderness Medicine, Emergency Ultrasound, Infectious Disease, and Travel Medicine. I spend a few months each year in Nepal, helping to develop academic Emergency Med with a focus on evidence-based and resource-appropriate medicine. I enjoy working at the interface between local health systems in the Developing World and global health perspective as a part of medical education. When I manage to tear myself away from work, I enjoy climbing (sport, trad, and bouldering), mountain biking, telemarking, mountaineering, exploring canyon country, scuba diving, more climbing, ecology, non-medical literature, travel, photography, and a really good party kitchen.     Back         Return to Top        EM Home
