CAMERON CRANDALL, M.D.,
Dept. of
Emergency Medicine

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR,
RESEARCH DIRECTOR
CENTER FOR INJURY PREVENTION RESEARCH & EDUCATION

Med School: Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
Residency: Emergency Medicine, University of New Mexico

Special Interest and Expertise:  Injury Prevention, Epidemiology, Statistics

I grew up in rainy-cloudy Seattle having thought that I had received my life dose of sun while working as Seattle parks lifeguard for many summers…little did I know what was in store for me. After graduating from the University of Washington, I spent half of a year in Paris, France learning the language, drinking way too much wine and eating one great meal after another. While I rarely find French to be of direct use in New Mexico, it has helped me butcher my way through more than one history and physical in Spanish. I took an interest in public health while in medical school and devoted a few years of my life to the discipline of epidemiology. It was this passion that led me to New Mexico. Here I found an emergency medicine program that saw things just a bit differently than all of the others. And here I have stayed. While not crunching numbers for residents and faculty, I spend my time redoing the landscaping of my house in downtown Albuquerque, cooking, and trying to find time to travel. I look forward to meeting you all—and even, just maybe, working a crazy night shift in the ED.

DAVID DOEZEMA, M.D.
Dept. of
Emergency Medicine

PROFESSOR
VICE CHAIR, DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE
CHAIR, HRRC

Med School: University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI
Residency: Henry Ford Hospital, Internal Medicine, MI
Fellowship: Tropical Medicine

Interests: The wonderful New Mexico environment.

I've been at the University of New Mexico 18 of the 21 years I've lived in New Mexico. I've had a number of positions in the emergency department, clinical director and most recently residency director. I'm interested in various clinical issues, especially minor head injury, quality improvement, and triage.  A large reason for my continued enjoyment of our emergency medicine practice is working with great residents.

Outside of work, I enjoy the wonderful New Mexico environment as much as possible with my family.
