If you're a veteran who has limited access to medical specialists or doesn't live near a Veterans Affairs medical center, UNM Health System can help you get care through the Veterans Affairs Patient-Centered Community Care Program (VAPC3). This network of providers and facilities helps you get timely, convenient and coordinated care in your local community. You gain access to:
- Primary care
- Inpatient and outpatient specialty care
- Behavioral health care
- Limited newborn care for enrolled female veterans following delivery
How VAPC3 Works
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) makes referrals through its partner TriWest Healthcare Alliance. TriWest handles the referrals, schedules appointments, tracks the flow of medical documentation and pays claims on behalf of the VA and veterans.
