If you're a high school student in New Mexico, the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) at UNM Health gives you opportunities to explore health care careers. This engaging program, available after school and in the summer, balances hands-on activities with classroom studies. Develop real-world skills while learning from doctors, nurses and a variety of other medical experts.
When you participate in YEP, you’ll practice basic medical skills in the BATCAVE Healthcare Simulation Program. Gain confidence in the safe environment of our adult, pediatric and infant simulation labs, where you’ll train on mannequins, fellow students or actors.
