Library Collections

"Collections" are a library's information assets. In the past, these were books or printed journals, but today most of HSLIC's collections are electronic: electronic journals, e-books, databases, electronic catalogs, and websites. Unfortunately, our budget was designed for a paper-based world.

Help us stay at the forefront of electronic resources by donating to the Collections Endowment.

Your donation will:

  • Purchase electronic resources - Furnish a dependable source of annual income to help us cross the digital divide.
  • Improve health care - Ensure that you and your family are cared for by health professionals who have ready access to the most up-to-date, most reliable information on treatments and research discoveries.
  • Educate new health professionals for New Mexico - Help provide the best possible education for our student doctors, nurses, pharmacists, occupational and physical therapists, and other health professionals.
  • Promote research - Give our faculty and researchers ready access to the latest discoveries so they can advance the frontiers of knowledge.

Collections Fund: Books of Honor

Voelz Collection [Photo] Books from the Voelz Collection of the Classics in Medicine Library

A special program within the HSLIC Collections Fund, "Books of Honor" is a way for donors to pay tribute to a special person or to celebrate a milestone event by donating $150 to purchase a commemorative book for the HSLIC collection. A bookplate inscribed with your name and the honoree's name will be placed inside the front cover of each new book.

This is a wonderful way to honor a graduate, loved one, friend, colleague, professor, or parent while making a significant contribution to the education of tomorrow's health care professionals.
