Today, the most important pathway to information is electronic access to digital resources. More of our students and faculty visit HSLIC online than any other way. In fact, today's library has no walls; it offers information online, without boundaries.

Your donation will:

• Increase access - Support the technology needed to carry information beyond the physical boundaries of our walls and campus, putting it at the fingertips of those who need it: students, educators, researchers, health care professionals, and the general public.
• Support education - Ensure that students and residents practicing in communities across New Mexico have access to our online information when and where they need it.
• Strengthen the network - Help maintain and expand a strong, secure, state-of-the-art information technology network.

Information Technology: Naming Opportunities

If you prefer to designate funding for specific items, you may be interested in Branding the COW or a Computer Workstation.

Branding the COW

The COW, or Classroom on Wheels, is a mobile computer classroom consisting of 16 wireless laptop computers in a rolling storage cabinet. When herded into a classroom, the COW's computers are distributed to students who are then connected to the Internet. We also have a "Calf" with 8 wireless laptop computers that can be branded.

Your donation will:

• Sponsor a year of service - Cover the maintenance and/or replacement of components for the mobile classroom for one year.
• Put your "brand" on the COW - Put your name or "brand" on a plaque secured to the COW or Calf for a year.
• Buy the rights to display your "brand" electronically - Put your name or "brand" on the laptop computer screens at start-up for one year.

You can brand the COW for $9,500 per year or the calf for $5,000 per year.

Branding a Computer Workstation

Many students depend upon the workstations in our Public Computing area to access online information or to do coursework. Our 56 workstations are nearly always occupied. For a donation of $2,500, you can sponsor one of these popular workstations.

Your donation will:

• Provide students with computers - Help assure that our students in the health professions have vital access to computers.
• Build the endowment - Add to the IT Endowment, helping to reach our $750,000 goal and create a dependable source of income to maintain our IT systems and equipment.
• Put your "brand" on the workstation - Put your name or "brand" on a brass plaque affixed to the table by the workstation.
