Borrowing Privileges

Borrowing privileges can be obtained for people unaffiliated with the University of New Mexico to check-out books, journals, and audiovisual materials from HSLIC's collection for a modest fee. Call 505-272-2311 for more information. Borrowing privileges are available to:

Access to Online Databases and E-Books

HSLIC's computers, journals, books and databases are available for public use within the library. Selected databases and online resources (marked as Global Access) can be accessed by the public from any location. Also see the e-book list for those marked as free/open access.

Journal Article Delivery

HSLIC's Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loan service will locate and deliver articles and book chapters from healthcare materials. First time users must create an ILLiad account. This fee-based service is available to all New Mexico residents.

LoansomeDoc Service

Those searching the free biomedical database, PubMed (MEDLINE), may order full-text copies of articles through the LoansomeDoc ordering system. For electronic delivery of articles, LoansomeDoc users must establish an ILLiad account. Medical Literature Searches

Medical literature searches (fee-based) and reference assistance are available upon request to obtain information on a particular health-related question. These services are available to all New Mexico residents.
