About the HSLIC Liaison Program

The Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) Liaison Program pairs members of the HSLIC faculty with academic departments in order to create a formal avenue for information exchange between HSLIC and the Health Sciences Center departments in order to identify knowledge management needs for access and use of information and technology resources, to develop the collection and technology resources, and to promote awareness of HSLIC resources, services, and educational opportunities.

The Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center improves and enhances human health through support, innovation, and leadership in the organization, delivery and use of quality information. We create an environment that fosters the development and sharing of knowledge for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and its partners.

Liaison Program Mission Statement

The UNM Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) Liaison program facilitates the creation of partnerships between the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center and Health Sciences Center departments. By developing these relationships, enhancing communication, and expanding awareness of information and technology resources, the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center identifies and supports the knowledge management needs of the Health Sciences Center.

General Program Goals

  • To create a formal avenue for the exchange of information between Health Sciences Center departments and the HSLIC.

  • To identify knowledge management needs for access and use of information and technology resources.

  • To assure that, to the greatest extent possible, HSLIC collections and technology resources effectively support education, research, patient care and administrative services for the Health Sciences Center.

  • To promote awareness of HSLIC resources, services, and educational opportunities and how these can support education, research, patient care and administrative services.
