HSLIC Visitor Information

The Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) welcomes visitors who wish to use library resources and facilities for education and research.

Use of the library

HSLIC is open to all users during our open hours. The Library is located on the UNM north campus, in the Health Sciences Center. Metered parking is available nearby.

Access to resources in the Library

Users in the Library have access to all electronic or web-based resources as well as the open stack print collections of journals, books, and media.

Borrowing

The ability to check materials out of the library is restricted in accordance with HSLIC circulation policies.

Remote access

In licensing agreements with libraries, publishers set restrictions on use of their electronic and internet-based resources. Remote access (off-campus access) to licensed resources is contractually limited to: UNM Albuquerque campus faculty, volunteer faculty, preceptors, staff and students and UNM Hospital staff.

Many internet-based resources are open access materials that anyone may use from any computer, whether in HSLIC or not.

Non-English speaking visitors

Library staff are conversant in Spanish, Russian, Turkish, German, and Tewa.
