The Native American Health Information Services Program connects the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) to Native Americans in New Mexico. The program offers resources to health care providers serving Native Americans and to community members of the 22 Native nations in New Mexico. The program will also address the health information needs of the Native American community at the University of New Mexico.
Native American Health Information Services are focused on health information delivery, health information training and collection development consultation.
The Native Health Database contain citations and abstracts of health-related articles, reports, surveys, and other documents pertaining to the health and health care of American Indians, Alaska Natives and Canadian First Nations. If available, a copy of the article will be sent to the requester free of charge.
Tribal Connections Four Corners Go Local is an online directory of health services that connects Native communities in the Four Corners region of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah to local hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, nursing homes, and other health-related services. The directory also links to reliable health information from the National Library of Medicine’s MedlinePlus® web site.
