New Mexico Health Historical Collections

The New Mexico Health Historical Collection (NMHHC) was established in 1984 to document health and medical practices in the state and region by collecting and preserving materials to be used for research and education. The collections include oral histories, rare books pertaining to the history of medicine, photographs, artifacts, and a New Mexico/Southwest health-related monograph collection.

The materials in the New Mexico/Southwest Collection are listed on the library’s online catalog. Each item will have a location designation of NM/SW. The collection may be browsed in the NMHHC room on the main floor of the library.

Currently, the processed collections available for use are listed by title in the Alphabetical Guide or by category in the Subject Guide.
