Microsoft Campus Agreement

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and Microsoft Corporation have established the Microsoft Campus Agreement (MSCA), which allows Health Science Center faculty members and staff employees access to the latest versions of some of Microsoft's popular software programs. Please see the available products from the link at the bottom of this page.

As part of the MSCA, the Health Science Center will soon begin deploying the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and the Microsoft Office 2007 Suite. To have Office 2007 installed on your UNM owned PC, contact your local technical support person or the HSC Helpdesk at 272-1694.

Work at Home Rights and Home Use Program

Included in the MCSA are Work at Home Rights for the Microsoft Vista operating system and the Home Use Program (HUP) for Microsoft Office, which allow HSC faculty and staff to use a second copy of the software on a home or personal computer. With HUP, faculty and staff members can get the Microsoft Office system programs to use on their home computer for both work and personal use.

These programs are not available to UNMH employees, residents or students. There are three available products for purchase, Office 2007 for Windows, Office 2004 for Macintosh, and Windows Vista. One copy of each program can be purchased from the bookstore for a media and handling fee of $9.95. Additional copies may not be purchased. You do not need to have Windows Vista to run Office 2007, it will run on Windows 2000 and above. Please refer to the Purchasing Products for Home link at the bottom of this page for details.

Please note that existing HSC policy does not provide support for privately owned equipment, thus the HelpDesk cannot provide assistance with the work at home program. Also note that most products available to faculty and staff home users have an individual license key. This means that each CD set has its own unique product key that cannot be recovered or recreated if lost.
