    Windows 7 Operating System: We have been testing the Windows 7 Operating System. At this time there are some standard HSC applications that need to be upgraded by the vendor before IT Governance can approve scheduling the deployment of this operating system. Please check back again for any updates.

    Dell Computers for Faculty, Stafff, and Students.: If you are looking for a great price on your next personal desktop or laptop, please go to the UNM Dell Site to create and purchase a customized device to meet your needs.

    GroupWise Web Access Change: The HSC IT department is moving the GroupWise Web Access page. Please update your bookmarks and favorites so you do not lose access. The new access point can be found at http://hsc.unm.edu/mail. The old access will be removed on 10/2/2009. Please update favorites and bookmarks prior to this date. Thank you.

    New UNM Wide Voice Mail System Coming.: Communication Networking Services will be installing a new voice mail system for the entire UNM campus. Instructions to set up your voice mail can be found here.

    FY09 Faculty Workstation Replacement Project.: The faculty workstation replacement project is gearing up and we are working to finalize the purchase of desktop and laptop computers that will be offerred at greatly discounted prices to HSC departments. Please address any questions to fwp@salud.unm.edu.

    New Series of Dell Laptops Released.: Dell has released their new E-Series Laptops and we will be updating our web pages, quotes and support for these devices. Also, new Dell Desktops and Printers are on their way.

    Additional Support for Dell XPS Computers.: User Support has added the current Dell XPS models to their support matrix. These devices will now receive full support like the Dell Optiplex models.

    Office 2007.: We will begin to roll-out and support Office 2007 beginning on August 1, 2007. We will continue to support Office 2003 until October 2008. Beginning October 1, 2007 all of our computer images will contain the Office 2007 product. Office 2003 is no longer sold or supported by Microsoft.

    SPAM Blocking.: A new SPAM Filter is being installed for the entire UNM community. Please read more about this spam filter and view some questions and answers.

    Office 2007.: The next suite Microsoft Office products is being released in early 2007 and will replace all previous versions of Office as the standard productivity software. Click the Office 2007 link on the right side of this page for details. Click here to access a demo.

    Don't Buy that New Software!: Please do not purchase Windows Vista or Office 2007. We are currently working with Microsoft to license the entire campus for these products. If you purchase these products you will be spending money that does not need to be spent. We will be providing more information shortly.

    A New Knowledgebase.: We are working on implementing a knowledgebase called FastInfo this summer. This new tool will allow you to search through many common issues and present you with information that will resolve your problems quickly and efficiently. Please check back for more details to come.

    Faculty/Staff Workstation Project: The FY06 Faculty/Staff workstation project has begun. Please use the link on the upper left portion of this page for information and forms.

    Microsoft Active Directory.: All newly imaged machines will have active directory installed as well as the new faculty workstations. To log on to a machine in the active directory you must activate your password at pw.health.unm.edu by logging on then following the instructions on the screen. You will only need to do this one time to access any machine with active directory installed.

    Portable Classroom.: We now have a new wireless portable classoom available to check out for HSC instructional purposes. Contact Ed Aalseth at 272-0650 or email EAalseth@salud.unm.edu.
