Computer Purchases.: Please be sure to contact the helpdesk to get a quote for your computer purchases. Many people have been purchasing non-standard devices such as the Dell GX-740 with an AMD processor that will not be fully supported by User Support Services and will cause lengthy delays (up to two weeks in most cases) in having them built to the HSC standard or repaired.
GroupWise Calendar.: Starting in 2007, Daylight Saving Time will be extended by 4 weeks in most U.S. and Canadian time zones. Daylight Saving Time will begin the second Sunday in March (3 weeks earlier) and will end the first Sunday in November (1 week later). This change complies with a provision of the Energy Preservation Act of 2005 and affects all U.S. time zones that observe Daylight Saving Time (DST). If you entered Calendar appointments prior to 11/10/2006 (when we received and applied updated software that supports the new changes), your appointments for March 2007 (starting with the second week of March) and for the last week of October/ first week of November 2007 will have a start time that is one hour later than you expect, and you will have to adjust those times. If you have further questions please contact HSC User Support (272-1694).

GroupWise Web Client Tip.: When using the Web Client, it is wise to save your work periodically. This is particularly true if you happen to be working on a document that is time sensitive, or lengthy in nature. In the GroupWise system, you can occasionally save a Draft. Since it does not do this automatically, you must select Save in the upper left corner of the mail you are working on and follow the prompts.
GroupWise for Dial-Up Users.: The GroupWise client can take up a lot of bandwidth. Therefore we have prepared a connection for those of us dialing into the system. The link to this connection can be found at: http://gogw.health.unm.edu/. Simply click the link: HSC Site for Dial-Up Users after you have dialed up your ISP.
