Because the archive is stored on your hard drive you will need to backup and move your archive if you need to change from one computer to another or if you need to have your computer imaged. To move your archive to your Home directory on the network open your GroupWise and go to Tools, Options, Environment and the File Location Tab. Using the icon of a folder at the end of the line for the archive location navigate to your Home directory. It should be something like My computer, H drive, Home and then your user name so that when you are done the directory shown for the archive should look like H:\Home\(your user name)\. When you close the File Location window your will be asked if you want to move your archive to the new location. Confirm that you do. Let it complete the process of moving the files.
If you are uncomfortable with typing in a directory or navigating to your network drive you can open My Computer and your D drive and you should be able to see the folder that holds your archive. It may be within a folder labeled Archive or it may be a name that ends in “arc” such as “ofabcarc”. Every archive name is slightly different. Once you have located the folder you can right click on it and select copy. Open your Home drive and right click in a blank spot and select paste. Allow the folder to be completely copied. Once you have your new computer or have gotten your computer back from being image you need to re-establish your archive. Open your GroupWise and go to Tools, Options, Environment and the File Location tab. On the first line for the Archive type in D:/ as the location. Open My Computer and your D drive and you should be able to see an archive folder that looks just like the one you copied to your Home directory but it wont have any of your files in it. Navigate to your Home drive and copy your archive folder. Go back to your D drive an paste it to the same place you see the new archive. When asked if you want to replace the file select yes to all. Open your GroupWise and confirm that you are able to see your archive. Keep a copy of your archive folder on your Home directory until you are sure you have successfully transferred your archive and can view it from within GroupWise then delete it.
