While using GroupWise Webaccess in Internet Explorer, the act of changing screens or refreshing your inbox will prompt you to login again. After you re-login, a login screen may keep randomly re-appearing. This can occur if the Smartscreen filter in Internet Explorer is enabled.
To disable this feature:
Open Internet Explorer.
Select Tools from the menu bar and then select Internet Options.
Once Internet Options is open, click on the Advanced Options tab.
While in the Advance Options screen, scroll down to the bottom and look for a checked box that is labelled Enable Smartscreen Filter.
Uncheck this setting.
Click on OK.
Using Internet Explorer you often get the error "Your login is not current. Please log in again".
This can be caused by a default setting and is a design flaw in Internet Explorer that causes the frequent login request problem.
To change this setting:
Open Internet Explorer.
Select Tools from the menu bar and then select Internet Options.
Click on the Settings button in the Temporary Internet files section.
Where it says, "Check for newer versions of stored pages", select the radio button "Every visit to the page."
Click OK to close the Settings Dialog box.
Click OK to close the Internet Options diaog box.
The GroupWise web access makes use of a standard internet technology called Java. Java is used to display dynamic content and is important that your browser has the most recent version of the Java toolset (available from Java.com) in order to properly access the UNM HSC GroupWise web access.
This error message could appear if a bookmark points to an older link to the Groupwise Web Access which is not being maintained. Please bookmark this link.
In order to protect any private or sensitive information that may be left open, GroupWise web access has a built in security feature which will close inactive sessions. If you’re not actively sending or opening messages, GroupWise web access will time out your session. If you need to compose a large or timely message, we recommend using another text editor and then copy paste them into your message when you are ready to send through GroupWise web access.
If you prefer, you may use the desktop client which runs GroupWise as an application on your desktop without using the web site. The client has more features, but will also require approximately 93MB of local drive space on your computer. This is not recommended for anyone who accesses the internet from a phone line connection. The client will work well if you have DSL, Cable, or Satellite (high speed) connections. You can load the GroupWise desktop client on your home computer from HSC Software Downloads. Please read the warning and directions on the web page prior to installing.
If you use dial-up or connected to a slow internet connection, please check the radial button labeled "Low" and the checkbox labeled "use the basic interface". This will run a very simplified version of the GroupWise web access interface without all of the graphics.
Make sure your browser is a recent version; older versions may not fully support GroupWise web access. Recent browser versions can be found for Internet Explorer or FireFox under the Utilities section. Please consult your browser's help section to obtain version and update information. You may also try to use the link for the backup access.
