A New Mexico Summit on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder 

Research Symposium & Posters: Friday Afternoon May 3, 2024 

Community Awareness Event: Saturday May 4, 2024 

The New Mexico FASD Summit will bring together leading international experts in the field of FASD research, treatment, and community outreach for two events: 

On Friday afternoon, May 3rd, 2024, the New Mexico Alcohol Research Center will host a symposium featuring presentations on cutting edge research and treatment of FASD. A poster session featuring research activities at UNM and the Mind Research Network will follow the research symposium. 

On Saturday, May 4th, 2024, the UNM Center for Development and Disability will host an FASD community awareness and stakeholder workshop emphasizing the tenets of FASD-informed care, clinical and community needs, and the voices of those with lived experiences. In addition, the advancement of NM and federal advocacy efforts in support of children and adults with FASD, their families, and professionals who serve them will be a focus of this day-long event. The workshop objectives are to increase awareness of the needs of those living with FASD and to accelerate organizational efforts In New Mexico to enhance health care, community and legislative efforts to improve the lives of New Mexicans with FASD and those who care for them.
