The Office
of Creative Endeavors, Department of Pediatrics, promotes
research and creative activities for the department by
providing assistance in grant development, and submission and
provides support to the department’s research committee.

The Office
of Creative Endeavors solicited, received, and completed a
wide variety of tasks from Pediatrics faculty, staff, and
residents.
Grants and Contracts
The office conducted funding searches for faculty, staff, and
House officers. The office assisted faculty with the preparation and submission process
of grants and contracts and processed amendments/revised budgets for previously submitted
grants. The office continued to operate a grants/contracts database. Total number of
grants/contracts submitted = 80 Total number of grants/contracts awarded = 66

The office sponsors the “Research Report” at faculty meetings.

The office offers support to the Pediatric Research Committee. The committee meets
once each month.

The office displayed an ongoing series of posters to showcase faculty and housestaff
research on the Creative Endeavors bulletin board in the department.

Hired Mark Eichinger, Ph.D., as the Research Coordinator for the department.

To continue to support the Office of Creative Endeavors as a means of implementing
research and creative/scholarly activities in the department.
