The Division of Neonatology provides service through the newborn intensive care unit, a 50-bed tertiary care service for critically ill newborns including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and high frequency ventilation.  The neonatal transport team moves high-risk neonates between statewide referral hospitals and the newborn intensive care unit.  The Neonatology Developmental Care Program provides an environmental, family-centered approach to the care of infants born at risk, from NICU admission through discharge into the community.  The Neonatal Outreach Education Program provides on-going educational and training needs of hospitals, and physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals.  Follow-up programs are available for infants at high-risk for physical and developmental disabilities.
