APPE Director, Megan Thompson, PharmD, receives New Generation Rx Award of Excellence Endowed by Cardinal Health Foundation
Dr. Megan Thompson received a high honor, being named the first-ever national award winner for her prescription drug misuse and abuse program from Cardinal Health. This award is the American Pharmacists Association's (APhA) new Generation Rx Award of Excellence. The program, developed by Dr. Thompson, includes working with schools throughout the state by interacting with students and teachers to educate them about the dangers associated with prescription drug misuse and abuse. Dr. Thompson will receive the award at APhA's Annual Meeting and Exposition in New Orleans, March 9-12.

 


UNM COP at the Capitol & Expo New Mexico
The UNM COP student pharmacists were busy giving health screenings to nearly 1,000 community members between Expo New Mexico Health Fair and the UNM Day at the Capitol. Health screenings included testing blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, BMI, and bone density. They also passed out Vials of Life with Good Neighbor Pharmacy at the Health Fair.
